National 3x3 player Brans Nzioka has his sights set on impressing selectors in his second season in the top flight, to earn his Kenya Morans debut.
The Ulinzi Warriors forward made his first appearance for the military side in the just-concluded campaign, having been promoted from KDF Snipers, then a division one side that had since gained promotion to the top tier.
Nzioka became an integral part of the Bernard Mufutu-coached former champions who were in a rebuilding process and that gained him a place in the 3x3 national U23 team. He has since turned 24.
"I am excited for the new season. My rookie year is over and it has been a good learning experience. I have gained valuable lessons and the new season presents the opportunity for me to implement, even as I work on getting better," Nzioka told Mozzart Sport on the sidelines of a Nairobi City Thunder friendly match against Nairobi Select, a side he featured for.
The military man admits that playing for the 3x3 national team has also exposed him to a different level of the game, having travelled far and wide playing alongside teammate Elisha Odhiambo in several outings.
Having graduated from the U23 team, he has his target on a Kenya Morans debut saying, "Everyone's dream is to play for their national team and I still have such ambitions. I will work towards becoming the best for Warriors and I know the rest will take care of itself when the time is right."
The league dates are yet to be announced but the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) sides have been in training for about a month in anticipation of the league. Warriors will look to reclaim the title they last won in 2019, against tough sides like Thunder, Equity Dumas and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).
